Instituted 1924 by Regent Ras Tafari Makonnen. A Rupert cross constructed of bronze gilt with red and green enamels, the obverse centre bears a gilded Lion of Judah bordered with red enamel with gilt inscription “Ge‘ez: Mo’a Anbasa Z. Y. “ (an abbreviation for Mo’a Anbessa Zemene Gede Yehuda, meaning The Lion of the Tribe of Judah hath conquered), the reverse centre is inscribed, measuring 41.4 mm (w) x 46.71 mm (h), with crown suspension on yellow ribbon with green and red stripes, very fine.
